What the Hel are we doing?

all yourself a Nature-Worshipper?

Most often, we urban Pagans sit in our homes, safe and secure, sending money to the Sierra Club, The Nature Conservatory, or PETA.

Few of us take the time to go down to a river, into a field, or deep into the forest. If we go camping, we sleep in an RV or cabin, never under the stars.

We congratulate ourselves on being connected to the Earth, all the while never actually touching Her. We wear shoes in ritual, bring camp chairs for drumming circles, and apply liberal amounts of Bug repellant to keep creepy crawly things off our clean (earth-free) bodies.

How on earth do we worship nature and Her Gods if we distance ourselves from her like this?

All I’m saying is that there are some things we should all try.

-Kick off your shoes for a ritual.

-Leave your chair at home for a weekend.

-Find a tree to lean against for an hour.

-Pick up litter on your own instead of paying someone to do it.

-Sleep for just one night under the stars.

Tell me how you feel in the morning.
