Startled, I looked up. “Oh, I’m just thinking.”
“Oh, does it hurt much?” she asked.
I flipped her off.
“Green, some days you just don’t have a sense of humour.”
I sighed and smiled. “I do have a sense of humour. It’s just not as evolved as yours, Lady.”
“Yes,” she said, smiling. “You just keep remembering that.”
