alone

Alone

I could not find words to describe her
For beauty and words do not compare
Nor does life to the sky above.
That face in my thoughts keeps me warm
When I stand in the cold night air
Alone.
She is always at the back of my mind
Holding the key to my heart in a box
Which she guards, day and night
Alone.
She dries my tears when I cry sometimes
Or holds an umbrella for me against the world
Unfailing kindness upon her face unmarked
By dirt or grime or evils I represent
Alone.
Physical distance is overcome by us together
The stars and Moon are ours to watch together
Against the world she and I stand fast
Alone together.
