One of the things I enjoyed doing last weekend was attending the Krampus Walk that we put together. This thing is insane in how fast it’s grown and how big of a thing it is. It is, actually, probably too big for us to handle.
But one thing I did get to do was get to take some pictures for cash.
Generally speaking, this is awesome: I haven’t gotten to do that before, and it’s nice to get to, but it’s also scary, because, frankly, I have no real “skill” with a camera, I tend to think. I might have an eye for editing, but that’s about the extent of what I can really do.
It was interesting to watch the parade of humans come through, sit down, and have their photo taken with our Krampus for the day. They loved it, and I got to chat with a lot more folks than usual.
It was fun putting kids in baskets, and trying to show other kids that there was a human behind the Krampus when they were too scared. But by far my favorite two pictures bookend this post: the “Tea and Krampus” photo, and the image of Seamus and myself with Krampus.
It was a great day. Here’s hoping it leads to a bit more photographic engagement for me, especially of the paying sort.
