Upcoming Workshop: Sigils & Magical Signs

So, I had planned to do this workshop at The Magical Druid before I went out to Beyond the Gates, but after seeing Laura Tempest Zakroff speak out there, I’m all pleased as punch to be giving this so I can work some of her nifty ideas in.

This is a four-part workshop, building on both what I knew and what I’ve been learning. Roughly, we’ll cover these things:

  • Magical Signs and Symbols: a crash course in the sorts of symbols you might see and experience, and how some of them came into use.

  • Icelandic Magical Staves: this is an update of a class I’ve given before, designed to work more toward a “Basics + Build-Your-Own” process.

  • “Classic” Sigil Work: the A.O. Spare techniques. Honestly, though, after Tempest’s workshop, I might spend less time on Spare and more on her.

  • The Leap From Sign to Magic: imbuing your signs with life and magic all their own, from servitors to connection.

The first workshop will be on Friday, September 28th, at 6 PM at:

The Magical Druid
3165 N. High Street
Columbus, OH 43202

And will cost $10/person. You can click the link at the top of the post, or check out the Facebook event for more information.

Of course, for my $5+ patrons here, you’ll get workshop notes, handouts, and other things that come out of the event (maybe even access to an audio or video version, if I think that far ahead and record it).

Please consider becoming a Patron to get in on those perks, if you haven’t already.
