Today, I light a candle for those whose world has changed.
Today, I light a candle for those who seek only peace.
Today, I light a candle in recognition of the voice of those who suffer.
Centered now, I call out to the Spirits:
For those seeking refuge, open the ways.
For those seeking comfort, open your arms.
For those needing healing, brighten their path.
For those defending themselves, sharpen their blade.
And I turn to the Spirits on this count as well:
For those who seek obstruction, set confusion at the crossroads.
For those who bring grief, snare their intention and hold it far.
For those who bring harm, bind their work and movements.
For those who are unjust, a blight on their weapons.
Let my these flames burn brightly, O Spirits:
An offering of peace, of comfort, and of hope.
Let our paths be brighter together,
And let us seek ways to help in the darkness.
So be it.

We must always do more than simply pray and light candles. Please consider a donation.
I know I’m not alone, watching what is going on in Eastern Europe. It’s not uncommon to have no words, or to be unable to process how to help. But we know that every little bit helps. Here is a list of causes we can donate to:

Most of these charities provide financial statements and information about the focus of their work. I am sure that one of these organizations will speak to you; consider donating if you can.
We are only as good as the work of our head, our heart, and our hands, crafted in concert and helping others. Let us do that good work, together.
