Rune Dice

A few years ago, I got the idea to carve or burn runes onto six-sided dice. I started making these on a bit of a whim while searching for easier ways to carry divination tools with a portable altar, and a few people have seen them and expressed a desire for a set.

The basic set is just four rune dice. Each individual die has six of the Elder Futhark runes on it, hand burned while I chanted the name of the rune over the die. I’ve enjoyed making them, and have toyed with the idea of selling them as well. They’re more complicated than I originally thought to make, because you have to carve all six runes correctly; failing to do so usually results in having a near-complete die that is suddenly useless because you burned the rune in at the wrong angle.

The dice are great, easy to carry divination tools, and they look pretty awesome.
