A Sweet Song

A Sweet Song

How I miss her
M’lady in lucent garb
Who shines brighter
Then any star in the sky.
I wish she’d come
Lay with me
Sing me softly to sleep
To a place beyond dream
That place I can find only
In her blessed arms.
I can almost hear her humming
That old sweet song
The song that means so much to me
The song that makes me love the night
The song I know so well
Yet never can recall.
When I open my eyes to the night
She’s never there
The songs are those of silence
Whispered in the shadows.
I so wish she’d come
Wipe away my tears
Promise me
I’d never need to cry again
And seal that promise
With a kiss.
