Put Out Your Hand

Put Out your Hand

Put out your hand
Both if you want more
But not enough to lose
Your grip on reality
Loosened by a twist of Fate
Or by Destiny's cruel punch
Full in the jaw you rub
While trying to stop a bleeding nose
From dripping on the carpet
You just bought for a fortune
Too small to count by itself
Against the terrors of the world
That cease to exist in our minds
But become reality in reality
Upon reality lost in imagination
And Figment galore at Disney
Or in the Lost-and-Found
Near the main gate of Hell
From which demons come roaring
On Harleys as a bat or something
Wanting to drink blood as vampires
Do on Moon-lit nights with stars
Obscured by clouds covering the sky
Falling into place and toward you
Waiting for you to reach out and
Put out your hand
