\nCan bring such
\nSaddness
\nTo my heart.

\nThat life is horrid

\nTo be dreaded.
\nBut as the sky
\nIs lit up
\nBy lightning

\nA candle is lit

\nI see my reflection
\nBy candlelight
\nIn the window
\nGhostly
\nTransparent
\nDark as my soul.
\nIs this what others see
\nWhen I turn to them
\nAnd stare
\nBecause words hate me?
\nLife is always against me
\nRandomly choosing
\nPlaces to decieve me
\nOr give me the gift
\nOf Love
\nWhen I cannot accept it.
\nBut the blame rests nowhere
\nIf not on my own soul
\nBecause my soul
\nIs black as night
\nAnd you are bright
\nAs day.
\nThe Moon above
\nNever loved me
\nNor did the Goddess
\nI meant to win
\nBy a charm
\nI never possessed.
\nSome things in life
\nMay be attractive
\nBut not I
\nAnd I don’t see
\nWhat draws you near
\nTo a monster
\nSuch as I.
\nShould I be placed
\nInside a hell
\nSo terrible Imagination
\nCould never touch
\nMy shriveled heart?
\nI doubt I could stand
\nSeparation
\nLike that from you.
\nBut what if I wanted
\nTo sleep
\nOr dream a dream
