This ritual works very strongly in my own personal pantheon, but it’s easily adapted for whatever you wish to do. It’s called Samonios, rather than Samhain, because it’s a Gaulish-focused ritual. It also runs very strictly off the ADF Core Order of Ritual.<\/p>\n

Calling to the Chthonic Kindreds<\/h4>\n

Down below our feet, deep within the ground
\nIn the fertile womb of the Earth Mother
\nAre denizens of Dark, unknown to us:
\nGods of the Earth, Ancestors, and Earth-Kin.
\nOur bones will rest here though our soul will rise
\nNow we pour libation to these Kindred
\nKnowing their place in life and the Cosmos
\nI welcome the spirits of Dark Earth.
\nBe comfortable in my abode tonight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n

8. Key Offerings<\/h3>\n

Cernunnos, Antlered God,
\nI call out to you now.
\nYou sit in doorways,
\nseeing both directions<\/p>\n

Open the Veil you hold,
\npart it like warm butter.\u00b2
\nAllow the Ancestors
\nto come forth this dark night.<\/p>\n

Cernunnos, Between Ways,
\nAccept this offering!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Praise should now be offered to Cernunnos, and to the Ancestors.<\/p>\n

9. Prayer of Sacrifice<\/h3>\n

Cernunnos, Guardian,
\nYou who have spread the veil,
\nYou who have brought our ancestors,
\nI ask that you return them,
\nThat you close the veil.
\nWhisper to them that they are not forgotten,
\nAnd allow them to leave any blessings they may.

Notes from Samonios Rite:<\/h3>\n

\u00b9 – I decided on a different kind of “Three Kindred” invocation because of the High Day involved. Rather than doing “NS, Ancestors, Deities,” I chose to do “Kindreds of the Heavens\/Middleworld\/Underworld”, and each invocation deals with the 3 Kindred as you can find them in each realm. As I look back on it, I like it even more.<\/p>\n
