At ComFest<\/a> in 2006, Three Cranes Grove, ADF<\/a>, did short devotional rituals every three hours for three days. They were hectic, but they were very, very good for us.<\/p>\n

In light of ComFest coming up yet again this year, I wanted to post this, and explain a bit about it.<\/p>\n

We stand at the Center
\nIn the presence of All
\nOur feet supported by the Earth Mother
\nOur minds crowned in Inspiration
\nOur hearts pure of purpose.<\/p>\n

[devotional prayers\/offeings\/etc.]<\/p>\n

Our hearts remain open,
\nOur minds retain their fire,
\nOur feet are still supported,
\nAs we depart this place.
\nMay we take our center with us.
\nThis rite is ended.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The central hope was that we could find a way to do our usual opening prayers without going too deeply in depth. So, I took our normal order of opening prayers, and basically:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Asked folks to find their center,<\/li>\n
  2. noted our usual “Universal Spirit Prayer”,<\/li>\n
  3. acknowledged the Earth Mother,<\/li>\n
  4. called on inspiration,<\/li>\n
  5. and reminded us to think on the purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Then we did a short devotional prayer or offering to the Kindred\/Power\/entity that we were doing the devotional for.<\/p>\n

    After that, we simply returned ourselves by doing it backwards.<\/p>\n

    It worked quite well for us, and I really like this very simple, very easy form of devotional.<\/p>\n

    And I’m very happy that I found it again, because I had no idea where this little devotional structure was until just yesterday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
